Nosferatu stands 11 1/2 inches tall and is solid porcelain resin. This particular pose as well as the look on his face truly captures the look and feel of the character from the movie. The longer slender fingers give off an eerie look that it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. The arms have actual pins sculpted into them so that when matched to the torso gives this kit the secure tight fit without having to pin the kit yourself. This saves time on prep work.
The base is made of solid resin as well and has a total of 35 rats upon it. Yes you read it right, 35 rats! This base will positively make Willard drool. The rats alone would take a substantial amount of time to paint. I do however have a few problems with the base. Aside from the rats being out of scale in contrast to the figure, there doesn't seem to be much going on. The base definitely needs more going on with it, because the figure and coffin are so will sculpted that it is would take away from the kit if left as is. .
The Coffin is a whopping 12 ½ inches long and is made out of hollow resin. One has to stop and wonder that if it were solid how we would be able to hold it in his hands. It is scale to the figure, which makes it a great accessory for this kit. The grain lines sculpted into this piece really adds a touch of realism to the coffin. So much so, that it really looks like it was hand carved from a piece of wood. The 2 inch lip on the lid adds for correct alignment under his right arm without actually pinning the coffin to the figure. There was some great workmanship that went into sculpting and casting this coffin. I was totally impressed with it.
One tough decision to make now is the color scheme. Or lack of, since I may opt going with a black and white theme.
I purchased this Nosferatu kit at Chiller in April 2003. It was produced by Dark Carnival and was $165.00. If you are a fan of Nosferatu, Dracula, or horror in general, this is definitely a kit for you.
